To explain what I think Foundation is trying to say about the cover of Bane:

They feel offended because a band that has NOTHING to do with hardcore is making what seems to be a mockery of one of the best songs written by one of the best hardcore bands to ever exist. Is it a little selfish? Sure. Is it justified? Fuck yes. I See Stars doesn’t support hardcore. They don’t support piling into a garage to sweat it out for 20 minutes with a bunch of people. They don’t support scraping together $5 to see some garage band’s 2nd show. They support paying $35 for some shitty shirt covered in dinosaurs and making ridiculous sounding music.

That cover is so awful that it comes off as a joke, which is taken as disrespect and makes I See Stars look like assholes. Whether their intentions were good or not, this whole move was a bad idea. There’s no way they couldn’t have expected this kind of reaction.

Someone finally makes sense^
